The problem

Iguanas were seen going in and out of the tracks of the second-floor shutters on a multi-story building in Broward County.

What we found on site

A pair of iguanas nesting inside the second-floor shutter tracks — a sheltered, elevated spot that ground-level trapping cannot reach.

What we did

Raised an extension ladder to reach the second-floor shutter tracks safely.
Removed both iguanas from the tracks by hand.
Checked the remaining shutter tracks and the facade for other nesting spots.

Outcome

Both iguanas were removed in a single visit. A good fight — E.R.R. kicks tail again.

Preventing a repeat

Shutter tracks and gaps around upper-story windows give iguanas sheltered nesting spots. Keeping shutters closed and trimming branches that touch the building removes their climbing routes.
